Create and assign an ordination

Create an ordination on a client, assign it to the doctor who will sign it, and follow it until it is signed. Ordinations that are waiting are found by sorting the Clients list, not on a separate page.

📍 Where to find this: Clients → open a client → Prescription

✅ What you can do

  • Create an ordination and send it to a connected doctor
  • Sign an ordination yourself when no doctor is involved
  • Find every client whose ordination is still unsigned

💊 Create an ordination

  1. Open the client and go to Prescription.
  2. Fill in the ordination.
  3. Choose the doctor in the Prescriber list.
  4. Click Submit Draft to keep working on it, or Submit and Sign to sign it yourself.

Once you pick a prescriber and save, the ordination appears in that doctor's own portal, and the Prescriber field can no longer be changed.

⚠️ Choose the prescriber carefully. The field is locked as soon as the ordination is assigned, so a mistake means creating the ordination again.

ℹ️ The Prescriber list only contains doctors who have accepted your invitation. If it is empty, see Add a doctor as a prescriber.

🖊️ Who signs it

If you assigned the ordination to a doctor, that doctor signs it in their portal. Your clinic cannot sign it for them, and the sign icon is hidden on the row.

If you did not assign anyone, your clinic signs it, using the same Submit and Sign step as any other record.

🔍 Finding ordinations that are waiting

There is no separate "needs prescription" page. Use the sort control at the top of the Clients list:

  • Needs Prescription shows every client with an ordination that has not been signed yet
  • Prescribed shows clients whose ordinations have been signed

ℹ️ A client stays under Needs Prescription until the ordination is signed. If one seems stuck there, check that the doctor accepted your invitation, and that the ordination was actually assigned to them.

✅ After signing

A signed ordination records who signed it, when, and whether BankID was used, and it is locked exactly like a signed treatment record. It can be cancelled with a note but never edited.

💡 See Submit and sign a record for how signing and cancelling work, and Manage prescriptions for the client's prescription history.
