Add a doctor as a prescriber
A doctor who signs ordinations for your clinic is not a normal user on your account. You invite them, they keep their own MERIDIQ account, and they work from a separate doctor portal.
✅ What you can do
- Invite a doctor to sign ordinations for your clinic
- Understand why a prescriber does not need a paid user seat
- Know what to do when an invitation is not accepted in time
👨⚕️ Invite a doctor
- Click General Settings → Team.
- Start adding a user as normal.
- Set the role to Prescriber.
- Enter the doctor's e-mail address.
- Click Send Join Request.
The doctor receives an e-mail asking them to join your clinic. They appear in your team once they accept.
🔑 What the doctor needs first
The invitation only works if the doctor already has their own MERIDIQ account and has registered for the doctor portal. You cannot create the account for them.
If the address does not match an account that is set up for prescriptions, MERIDIQ refuses the invitation rather than sending it.
💳 What a prescriber costs
A prescriber does not use one of your paid user seats. Choosing the Prescriber role hides the seat and system options for exactly that reason.
Instead, the clinic pays a fee per prescription, at the rate the doctor sets. The fee is recorded on each ordination when the doctor signs it.
🚪 Removing a prescriber
Removing a doctor from your team also unassigns every ordination of theirs that is not yet signed. Anything they have already signed stays on the client's record, as it must.
