Submit and sign a record

Every treatment record is saved either as a draft you can still change, or signed. Signing locks the record permanently, so it is worth knowing which button does what before you use them.

📍 Where to find this: Clients → open a client → create or open a treatment

✅ What you can do

  • Save a record as a draft and come back to it
  • Sign a record with a drawn signature or with BankID
  • Correct a record that was signed by mistake

✍️ Submit Draft or Submit and Sign

When you finish writing a treatment you have two buttons:

  • Submit Draft saves your work and leaves the record editable. Use this whenever the treatment is not finished, or you want a colleague to look at it first.
  • Submit and Sign saves the record and then opens the signature step. Use this only when the record is final.

⚠️ Signing is permanent. A signed record cannot be edited, deleted or unsigned by anyone, including a super-user. MERIDIQ does not ask you to confirm before signing, so check the record before you click Submit and Sign.

ℹ️ If you leave the page with unsaved changes, MERIDIQ asks Save your draft? and offers Submit Draft or Discard. Choosing Discard throws the changes away.

🖊️ Signing the record

After Submit and Sign, the Practitioner signature window opens.

  1. Draw your signature in the box, then click Submit.
  2. If your BankID is verified, there is no drawing box. You see Since your BankID is verified, directly sign with BankID and a Sign button instead.

The record then shows who signed it and when, and BankID signatures are marked as such.

ℹ️ You do not have to use BankID. Records can be signed with a drawn signature, which is how clinics outside Sweden work. See Verify your identity with BankID if you want BankID signing.

🔁 Correcting a signed record

You cannot change a signed record, so MERIDIQ lets you cancel it and explain why. The original stays in the journal, which is what a clinical record is supposed to do.

  1. Find the signed treatment in the client's list.
  2. Click the Cancel icon on that row.
  3. In Add Cancel Note, type the reason under Details.
  4. Click Submit.

The row turns red and is marked Cancelled, with a note icon that shows your explanation. If the treatment needs to be recorded properly, create a new one alongside it.

⚠️ Trying to edit or delete a signed record returns This procedure is locked. That is not a fault, it is the record being protected.

💡 The same signing pattern is used for general notes, consents and prescriptions. See Track procedures & treatments for the rest of the treatment workflow.
