# Manage products

Use the Products section to manage your full product catalogue — add items, update details, control stock, set pricing and organise everything into categories.

## ✅ What you can do

* Browse, search and filter products by status, name or category
* Export the full product list with all details
* Add new products with barcode, price, tax rate and stock
* Edit, activate and inactivate existing products
* Create and manage product categories with custom colours

## 📦 Product Library

### Browse & filter products

1. Click **POS System** → **Products** → **Product Library**.
2. Use the filters at the top-right to find products:

| Filter | Options |
| ---- |
| **Active/Inactive** | Filter by active or inactive status |
| **Sort** | Recently Added, A-Z, Z-A |
| **Category** | Filter by product category |
| **Search** | Search by product name |

3. *(optional)* Click the **Export** button to download the full product list with all details.

### ➕ Add a product

1. Click **POS System** → **Products** → **Product Library**.
2. Click the **+Add Product** button in the top-right corner.
* Opens the Add Product pop-up.
3. Enter the product's **barcode or universal code**.
4. Enter the **Product Name** and **Description**.
5. Select a **Product Image**.
6. Select the **Product Category** from the dropdown.
7. Enter the **Selling Price** and **Base Price**.
8. Choose the applicable **Tax Rate** from the dropdown.
9. Enter the **Inventory / Stock** amount.
10. Click **Submit** to save. Click **Cancel** to discard.

### ✏️ Edit, activate & inactivate a product

1. Click **POS System** → **Products** → **Product Library**.
2. Click the **Edit** icon to update an existing product.
3. Click the **Activate/Inactivate** icon to change the product's status.

| Action | What it does |
| ---- |
| **Edit** | Opens the product form to update any field |
| **Inactivate** | Hides the product from the active list and from sales |
| **Activate** | Makes the product visible and available for sale again |

|| ℹ️ Inactive products are hidden from the default list. Use the **Active/Inactive** filter to view and manage them.

## 🏷️ Categories

### Browse & filter categories

1. Click **POS System** → **Products** → **Categories**.
2. Use the filters at the top-right to find categories:

| ---- |
| **Active/Inactive** | Filter by active or inactive status |
| **Search** | Search by category name |

### ➕ Add a product category

1. Click **POS System** → **Products** → **Categories**.
2. Click the **+Add** button in the top-right corner.
* Opens the Add Category pop-up.
3. Enter the **Category Name**.
4. Select the **Category Colour**.
5. Click **Submit** to save. Click **Cancel** to discard.

### ✏️ Edit, activate & inactivate a category

1. Click **POS System** → **Products** → **Categories**.
2. Click the **Edit** icon to update an existing category.
3. Click the **Activate/Inactivate** icon to change the category's status.

| Action | What it does |
| ---- |
| **Edit** | Opens the category form to update name or colour |
| **Inactivate** | Hides the category from the active list |
| **Activate** | Makes the category visible and available again |
