# Manage prescriptions

In Prescriptions, you can create prescriptions by uploading files and adding text templates. You can also assign a prescription to a prescriber.

## ✅ What you can do

* Create prescriptions with text templates and file uploads
* Assign prescriptions to a prescriber
* Sign, edit, view, download or cancel prescriptions

## ➕ Create a prescription

1. Click the **Clients** menu.
2. Click on the client from the list.
3. Go to **Records** → click the **Prescriptions** tab.
4. Click the **+Add** button — opens the Prescription pop-up.

5. Enter the **Title**.
6. *(optional)* Select a **Text Template** from the dropdown.
7. *(optional)* Select a **Prescriber** to assign the prescription.
8. *(optional)* Click **Choose files** to upload documents or images.
9. Save or finalise:
* **Submit Draft** — saves without signing
* **Submit and Sign** — opens the Sign Prescription pop-up
10. *(optional)* Click **Cancel** to discard.

||| **⚠️ Once signed, the prescription is locked.** It can only be viewed and cancelled — not edited. If assigned to a prescriber, only that prescriber can sign it from the prescription portal. You can only download after signing.

## ⚙️ Prescription actions

| Icon | Action | What it does | Available when |
| ---- |
| ✏️ | **Sign** | Finalise & lock the prescription | Unsigned only |
| 📝 | **Edit** | Modify prescription details | Unsigned only |
| 👁️ | **View** | Read-only view | Any status |
| 🗑️ | **Delete** | Remove permanently | Unsigned only |
| ⬇️ | **Download** | Export as PDF | Signed only |
| 🚫 | **Cancel** | Cancel & add a reason note | Signed only |
| 🗒️ | **View cancel note** | Read the cancellation reason | Cancelled only |
