# Cancel a system or close your account

Cancel one of the MERIDIQ systems you subscribe to, or stop using MERIDIQ altogether. Cancelling is done per system, and each one keeps working until the period you have already paid for ends.

| 📍 **Where to find this:** General Settings → Billing

## ✅ What you can do

* Cancel a single system and keep the rest of your subscription
* Cancel during a free trial before the first payment is taken
* See the exact date a cancelled system stops working
* Understand what closing the account entirely involves

## 🚫 Cancel a system

1. Click **General Settings** → **Billing**.
2. Click **Cancel plan**.
3. Tick each system you want to cancel: **Record System**, **Booking System**, **POS System** or **Quality Mgmt. System**.
4. Click **Submit**.

|| ℹ️ **Cancel plan** is only shown to the account owner, the person whose e-mail address is also the clinic's e-mail address. Colleagues signed in as a normal user or an admin do not see the button.

|| ℹ️ A system still inside its free trial shows **Free trail period** next to its name in the list. Cancelling it there stops the trial before any payment is taken.

## 📅 What happens next

The system you cancelled keeps working until the end of the period you have already paid for. Until then it appears in **Billing** with **Ends at** and the date it stops, shown in red.

|| ℹ️ **Cancelled your full MERIDIQ subscription and still seeing an upcoming invoice?** That is expected. **Billing** keeps showing it, marked **Upcoming**, until your billing cycle date. On that date the invoice is cancelled automatically and you are not charged. You do not need to do anything.
|| If you cancelled only some systems, the upcoming invoice is real and covers the systems you are keeping.

Nothing is deleted on that date, and your records stay in MERIDIQ. What changes is access: once no system is active you are taken to the **Subscription** page each time you sign in, and you choose a plan again from there.

||| ⚠️ Cancelling the **Booking System** also stops your public booking page, so clients can no longer book online. Cancelling the **Record System** stops your Registration Portal. Let your clients know before the end date if either is part of how they reach you.

## 🏢 Closing the account completely

MERIDIQ has no single button that closes an account. To stop using MERIDIQ entirely:

1. Cancel every system, as described above.
2. E-mail [support@meridiq.com](mailto:support@meridiq.com) to close the account itself and to agree what happens to your clinical data.

||| ⚠️ **Cancelling your systems is not the same as terminating your agreement.** If you want the account closed and billing to stop for good, write to support and ask for it in writing, so both sides have a record of the date.

|| ℹ️ There is no way to pause or freeze an account for a few months. If you are closing the clinic temporarily, contact support and ask what your options are rather than leaving the subscription running.
